Heartbeat Detroit works with students to foster creativity and confidence and generate harmony in communities through the connective power of music.

Summer in the D

We recently celebrated an album release party for Real Love, written, recorded, and performed by the brilliant students of Southeastern High School in collaboration with local musicians.

It was truly a beautiful evening and we can’t wait to do it again. In the meantime, give the album a spin on Spotify, Apple Music, or Soundcloud. It’s the best free.99 you’ll spend all day.

Music + Vibes + Community = Connection

That’s just how it works. Shout out to Hunt St. Station, Tempermill Studios, Get Fresh Studios, the Gregory Walker Quartet, Piper & Paul, DJ Nefyu, Jiana Hunter, Shane Karas, Jonny Walker, Eli Sleeker, Khary Mason, Jalyn Baity and of course the Southeastern Family for making this project shine so brightly.

Heartbeat Detroit is a 501(c)(3) non-profit music education organization working in school communities with limited or no access to music and performing arts instruction.

We believe that all students deserve access to excellent arts education in schools, and that there is no better way to bring a group into harmony than by making music together.

Heartbeat Detroit facilitates bands, choirs, drum ensembles, songwriting workshops, and music production/recording studios in Detroit schools.
